Extension is the buzzword. Let me elaborate it further. Suppose your contract phone deal is about to end and you are worried that you would not be able to retain the same number, once its over, then what would you do in such a scenario? Don’t exhaust your brains, I would help you out with that. What you can do is upgrade your mobile phone. Confused? Please don’t be!

When I say, you can upgrade your mobile phone, what I mean is that you can renew or extend your contract with the current network service provider. No free lunch, they say. Similarly, this amazing facility comes for a price. Do not worry, you need not pay anything. All that you got to do is to verify a checklist, encompassing two points. First and foremost, you need to be a contract phone user. So, if you are one, you are fortunate, I would say. Secondly, you need to be sure of the decision of going ahead with the same service provider, as you can not switch over.

If that sounds a bit over the top, then have a look at this. If you upgrade your mobile phone, you can enjoy a lot of benefits, even more than you can ever imagine. To begin with, you can grab the latest handsets of your choice for free. You know what, I had been using a 2G phone since ages and wanted to get hold of the brand new Samsung Tocco Lite. Being technologically novice, I was not aware that such deals even existed, but one of my friends introduced me to the concept of upgrading and I went for it immediately. And now I am a proud owner of the widget, that I always craved for.

But that is not all, friends. Apart from that, I managed to lay hands on free minutes and texts. Sounds similar to strawberry ice-cream with hazel nuts on the top, isn’t it? Wait! The list doesn’t stop here. I was born lucky, I know, but what I didn’t know was that I would be fortunate enough to get hold of 7 months free line rental as well. Who knows, you may even get a lot more, once you decide to upgrade your mobile phone? And the best part is that gadgets from Nokia, Sony Ericsson and other major brands are available.

Many newer and better technologies have influenced the phones in the year 2009. The Blackberry Curve 8900 is a new device that has brought impressive features to the world. I am not so happy about the looks of this gadget, but features have been ok for me. A GPS navigation feature is present in this gadget along with the Bluetooth and USB supports. GPS allows me to know my location very precisely while the USB and Bluetooth enable transfer of data. Battery here offers a 5.5 hours standby support with a 360 hours talktime supports. Appearance is less than ok as I did not enjoy it.

HTC Hero

Another known mobile phone of 2009 is the Apple 3G S. The phone is offered with a touchscreen interface enabling an excellent means to access the applications just by a few simple touches. Here is also an Apple operating system through which the users can get a better and faster operating system to work with. It also has a giant memory size of 32 GB through which the users can get an extra advantage of storing pictures for later use. Audio songs, videos, photos, files and many other things can all be stored here in the phone.

There is one more phone which I would like to recall here for its fantastic appearance and world class features. The HTC Hero is provided with an Android operating system. Here is a WiFi and 3G HSDPA technology allowing users to access the wireless network and download documents from anywhere. The music player provided in the smartphone allows me to listen to music of different formats such as the MP3, MIDI, AAC, AMR and Windows Media 9. Internet browsing is also enabled here in this 3G phone such that I can access different websites without any difficulty and to the maximum speed.

All these phones have been used by me and I can guarantee that they are the few of world class mobile phones of the year 2009. They really have all that one can expect from a mobile phone.

For all you novice people out there, the Samsung Jet lilac has already set the market ablaze with its alluring looks and out of the box features. Be it its 3.1 inches AMOLED resistive touchscreen or the fantastic FM radio that it has on board, which by the way, incorporates RDS as well, all the applications that this charming gizmo boasts of are simply mind-boggling.

When its craze has spread all across like an epidemic, how could I save myself? It took its toll on me and I got myself a brand new Samsung Jet Lilac last week. Nevertheless I am completely floored by its user-friendly features. What I find the most attractive is its built-in 5 mega pixel camera, that has in its kitty, add ons such as face, smile and blink detection, LED flash and auto focus, to name a few.

Samsung Jet Lilac

If I have selected one of the several applications that it is equipped with, as my favourite one, that does not mean, the others are not good enough. As a matter of fact, all of them are simply out of this world. Take for instance, the music player, that it is embellished with. Believe me, I am falling short of words, as I am trying to narrate my experience. Its purely flamboyant. The sound output is mesmerising and in addition, support for multiple file formats is also present.

You know what does my 3-year old nephew like about this gadget? It is the accelerometer sensor that it has on board. Since it facilitates auto-rotation, he just keeps on playing with it. Anyways, did I tell you that I am a business man and on the move, most of the times? Nevertheless, it is very crucial for me to have a handset, that has an on-board browser. As expected, it doesn’t disappoint me, because it brings along a WAP 2.0 browser, that supports HTML and xHTML. Guess what? It also serves on the platter, Wi-Fi, that ensures jerk-free surfing.

It seems the Samsung Jet Lilac was carved out, exclusively for people like me, who are born geographically-handicapped. In simple terms, it provides me with A-GPS support and makes sure that I do not get lost, which actually happens every other day or should I say, used to happen, until I grabbed this gizmo. Don’t tell it to my Mom though! Please!
